AGE Concern Crediton will be holding a concert in Crediton Parish Church on Saturday, April 16, entitled “Chrysalis, Music for Spring”; and much of the programme will thus have a soft and light-hearted feel to it.
The St David’s Singers may be new to some, but they comprise some 30 from among the finest vocalists in the area guided by the sharp but jocular Mark Perry and their programmes always comprise a healthy balance between levity and respect.
Among them will be “Linden lea” “Lullaby of Birdland” and “Homage to Reginald Dixon”; the last will have to keep us guessing!
The Crediton Town Band need no introduction, and in addition to lively Marches which they do so well we will find Irish music, Gospel Music, Music from “Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang” and a beautiful flugel horn solo.
The interval will provide wine and fruit juice, kindly donated by Thomas Westcott (Accountants), and, given the beautiful setting of the Parish Church, it should be an evening to remember.
The concert will start at 7.30pm, and tickets, priced at £8, may be obtained from the Lady Mills Centre on Deep Lane and the High Street shop of Age Concern, as well as A E Lee Outfitters.
All of the proceeds will stay in the town and go to support the work of Age Concern Crediton, the local charity which helps to make the world a better place for those with age related issues.
