Whist Drive. The February whist was organised by the local Lib Dem branch of Central Devon and supported by 113/4 tables.

The main prizewinners were: Ladies - M Riddaway, P Bromell, V Hann, S England, A Scott, D Toms, P Reed and A Slee. Gents - Evelyn, N Bromell, J Jewell, E Hann, C Tavener, J Martin, A Hawkins and D Callard.

Among the helpers were: S Vile, E Collins, D Toms, A Hawkins and K Vile, who was the MC.

The amount raised was around £70.

Village shop. The latest news about the proposed new village shop: Building works are about to start.

The amount raised is more than £82,000 which will cover the work of a part-time manager for the first two years.

This amount includes all pledges made and will be collected ASAP.

It is hoped that people will still buy shares in the project.
