SIGNS have been placed in Four Mills Lane, Crediton, commonly used as a "rat run" between Fordton and Tesco and the town, to warn motorists to slow down.

There is no pavement for much of Four Mills Lane and local residents say they are taking their their life in their hands when they walk up the road.

Four Mills Lane is often used as an alternative for traffic when there is a hold-up in Exeter Road.

The new signs say "Kill your speed not a child", "Children playing slow down" and "Slow down 20mph".
