SILVERTON Christmas Tree Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 4 and 5 at St Mary’s Church from 10.30am each day, to raise funds for two charities.

Home-made refreshments will be available all day on both days together with a produce stall and grand raffle.

Entrance will be £1 per adult to include a lucky programme with vouchers for local pubs to be won each day.

On the Friday at 2.30pm the School Choir from Silverton Primary School will be attending to sing Carols.

To end the weekend a Christmas Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 6 at 3pm with Songs, Poems and a Devonshire Dialect version of the Nativity story amongst other items.

Beneficiaries this year are the NSPCC and Room4u, which is a local charity raising funds for converting a redundant building into a Memory Cafe.

The Festival closes at 4pm when the trees are removed.
