LOCAL residents have again rescued persons stuck in floodwater at Yeoford, the second time in three days.

The road from Yeoford to Hittisleigh is flooded to a depth of about 2.5 feet beside Yeoford Chapel.

Today, Monday, February 9, local people rescued occupants of a car which became stranded in the large expanse of water.

It follows a similar incident which occurred on Saturday, February 7.

In that incident, local people rescued the occupants from a car in the flood.

However, the road is passable with care by tractors and high wheel base vehicles such as Landrovers.

The train service to the village is currently out of action due to the suspension of the service due to flooding on the Exeter to Okehampton line.
