ONE of the proposals under the Electoral Review for Mid Devon is that the number of parish councillors for Yeoford Ward be increased from five to seven.
However, members of Crediton Hamlets Parish Council felt it was not clear whether the number of Hamlets members would increase as well, giving it 11 councillors instead of the current nine, or not.
At its September meeting, the clerk was asked to check this and the reasons why for consideration at its October meeting.
It was pointed out that people have until October 23 to comment on this Second Stage consultation.
Concerns over lack of future-proofing planning applications for new homes including solar panels, ways to save water, electric car charging points, for new homes such as the Pedlarspool development, were reported by the clerk.
While not material planning considerations when commenting on planning applications, parish councils can suggest Mid Devon District Council should take such matters into consideration.
Councillors agreed this should be a standard checklist from which it would work in future.
It was reported that several signposts, such as at the bottom of Uton Steep, had still not been repaired.
The next meeting will be on Monday, October 3 at 7.30pm at Yeoford Community Hall, then November 7 at the Boniface Centre, Crediton.
