POLICE are investigating reports of an aggravated burglary at an address in Crediton on Tuesday, September 3, which happened shortly after 10pm.

Detective Sgt Skinner from Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We received reports that five men entered the property and covered the two occupants in petrol before threatening them with a lighter. No one was injured in the incident.

“It was further reported that the men, who were reportedly wearing balaclavas, stole a number of items including bank cards, before fleeing the scene.

“We believe that the offenders were known to the occupants of the property and enquiries are ongoing.

“Although this is clearly a shocking crime, I would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident.”
