Shobrooke Cricket Club's new cricket pavilion is moving towards completion and should be ready in time for the 2010 season.
Unlike the current pavilion, beside which it stands, it will have a shingle roof.
It will be used for a number of purposes including the storage of machinery.
The tea room, which is currently sited in the existing pavilion, will be converted into changing rooms and house other facilities.
Work on the new building is being carried out with the aid of a grant from Awards for All and by donations by club members, who have also been busily engaged by volunteering their professional skills on the building.
Club secretary Richard Pyle told the Courier that an official opening would be arranged on a date yet to be fixed.
