THE organisers of the first Crediton Artists’ art trail and exhibition, held as part of the recent Crediton Festival, say they were overwhelmed by the talent of artists in the EX17 postcode area.
Tim Salter, Paul Cartwright and Rebecca Holley said that because of the success of the event, which saw the work of 42 local artists displayed in 42 shops and business establishments along Crediton High Street and around the Town Square, they are now hoping to organise another similar event.
Rebecca explained: “This was the first time an art trail by local artists had happened through Crediton.
“To coincide with this an exhibition was staged at the Boniface Centre, an opportunity for people to see more of the artists work and speak directly to the makers.
“It was a very successful event and one that we hope to continue in the future.
“We would like to thank all the shopkeepers for their generosity of allowing window space, all the artists for taking part, Crediton Arts Centre for its support and the Boniface Centre.”
The winner of Crediton Artists’ first Town Trail People’s Vote 2017 was Aldona Radominska, Mosaic Artist, who showed her work in Adams Home Hardware.
