SCORES of people have enjoyed going along to the second “Big Boniface Bash” in Crediton.

Held for the first time last year, the free community fun day on Sunday, June 8 celebrated St Boniface, who was born in Crediton in the seventh century AD and is the patron saint of Devon.

There were wandering minstrels, stiltwalkers and Saxon re-enactors at the event, as well as games, food and craft stalls, Punch and Judy shows, live music and a bar.

Children also dressed up as Christmas trees, as St Boniface is thought to have been the person who invented the Christmas tree tradition.
