THE children in Year 3 and 4 at Crediton’s Landscore Primary School have been learning about the climate, as part of their Climate Heroes theme.

They have been focusing on food miles and where our food comes from.

The children decided to make a snack using as many local ingredients as they could and so decided to make scones with clotted cream and jam (of course - they had to have them the Devon way with the cream first!).

They taste tested and designed scones in their Design and Technology lessons, with a focus on local ingredients and making sure their food came from local sources where possible.

Crediton Morrisons very kindly donated the clotted cream and jam for the scones, and the children had a lovely time eating them in the sunshine!

The children baked them themselves in their Design and Technology room (with the help of Mrs Jones from the kitchen and Mrs Kibbey!) and said they felt like they were true professionals.

The school thanks Morrisons for their kind donation and Yvonne Jones and Becci Kibbey for all the help when making the scones.
