HAYWARD'S Primary School has opened a new facility at the school - not for children - but for parents.
Chairman of Governors, David Smith, performed the "official" opening of "The Parent's Room", which will have a variety of uses.
After Mr Smith cut the ribbon to open the room, the Acting Head Teacher, Steve Hitchcock, said that he hoped the room would be well-used by parents of children at the school and by the wider community.
"I think Hayward's Primary School is very lucky as not many schools have this

sort of facility.
"It is very exciting as it is about engaging with parents in comfortable surroundings.
"We have installed coffee-making facilities and a fridge and there is also a sink.
"We hope to use it for meetings, regular coffee mornings and Parent Support Advisors will also be holding meetings here.
"Breastfeeding mothers will be able to use the room and I hope people will come forward with other suggestions of how to use the facility."
The new facility has been welcomed by Crediton Learning Community, the school's Parent Staff Association, Governors and parents at the school. Parents have helped to decorate the room with murals.
