I WRITE with regard to your article regarding the giant wind turbine at Coldridge (Courier, January 16). We live at Nymet Rowland and can already see two wind turbines in the distance, one to the north east and one to the west. They are monstrosities and a blight on our beautiful Devon countryside. We have done our best to cover our energy usage by using solar panels, air source pump and voltaic panels. Voltaic panels in fields are preferable to turbines as they are much less visible and, of course, silent. From Nymet we have amazing views and not one pylon to be seen. Now that beautiful scenery is about to be destroyed if the building of this enormous turbine goes ahead. Mrs Angela Farnham address supplied
