THE sixth Christmas Tree Festival at Sandford Congregational Church was a huge success and raised funds for church renovations.

The church was adorned with more than 30 Christmas Trees decorated in the theme of "Step Into Christmas" for the festival which ran from Thursday, December 13 to Saturday, December 15.

The trees were decorated by a number of local organisations and businesses including Sandford Spirits, Good Companions, Sandford School and Playgroup, St Swithun’s Church, Dave Totterdell Electricians and Sandford Community Stores.

The official opening was performed by Cllr Liz Dalton, chairman of Sandford Parish Council and was followed by a performance from Sandford School Reception and Year 1 pupils who sang festive songs.

Sandford Sings performed festive songs and Kathryn King played the organ on the Friday.

The festival was brought to a close with a carol service with Pamela Tilney Ellis and friends.
