SANDFORD’S scarecrow trail, which took place during the summer holidays, proved a very popular activity for all the family and raised £647 for the village Playgroup funds.
The trail, which had an Olympic theme, offered the follower beautiful walks in and around Sandford, while hunting for the scarecrows.
The life-like scarecrows included Eddie the Eagle and Tom Baley and featured olympic sports including Tae Kwon Do, show jumping, gymnastics, athletics and cycling.
Results of the trail were: 1 Ted Gillman-Pope, 2 The Macey Family, 3 Sean and Eliza Alexander.
The favourite scarecrow, created by NFU Mutual, was “Tom Baley”, which depicted the Plymouth-born diver, Tom Daley.
