SANDFORD'S Got Talent! That was what 200 members of the audience who watched a talent show decided earlier this month.
It was the audience which voted for the winner at the event held in Sandford Parish Hall.
Organised by Rachael Board, 12 acts took to the stage, where the comperes were Paddy Blake and Richard Ward, Sandford's very own Ant and Dec.
First to take to the stage were the Sandford Scrubbers, followed by many other acts, including musicians, Julian Wilde from Crediton Record Shop, Queen Elizabeth's Community College maths teacher Pat Laver and Tina Guthrie.
A bar provided refreshment as spectators sat around tables to watch the acts.
Voting cards were issued as people arrived. A gorgeous home-cooked supper was also enjoyed and there was a bumper raffle.
After all the acts had taken to the stage and the votes counted, the results were announced and framed certificates presented to the first, second and third prizewinners.
First was Strictly Come Prancing by the Men in Lycra and second was Sandford Postmaster Stuart Wight. The third place went to Jonathan Southard and Jess Laver who sang their self-penned love song Come a Little Closer.
Rachael Board said of the event: "I am told it was one of the best nights they have ever had in Sandford Parish Hall.
"All the acts were brilliant, as were Ant and Dec.
"The hall was absolutely packed with more than 200 people coming along.
"To date the evening has made a profit of £2,200 but this is likely to rise even further as DVDs of the performances are selling fast and are still available.
"There are also some clips on YouTube if people want to have a look.
"It was such a success that we have agreed to run the competition again next year."
Proceeds from the event will be split 50/50 between Sandford School and Sandford Playgroup.
