SANDFORD Congregational Church recently purchased a portable ramp for use by the disabled attending services and events.

Co-ordinator for the project was Marion Nosworthy who realised that such a ramp was needed, both for the church and the church hall, where lunches, film shows and meetings are held.

With donations from the film shows, lunches and a donation from a party, money from Sandford Parish Council from the Queen’s Birthday celebrations etc the ramp was purchased.

It comes in two pieces, for easy carrying and is easily put together. Marion says it can be borrowed by any organisation and is also available to anyone who has a disabled person coming to stay for a few days to help them get in and out of the house.

She added that a £25 deposit is required, but this is paid back when the ramp is returned. Anyone interested in borrowing the ramp can call Marion on telephone 01363 775312.
