SANDFORD school pupils took the glory in the recent Crediton Tag Rugby Festival, defending Cheriton Fitzpaine 13-7 in the grand final.
The defending champions were once again in top form as they progressed through Pool B and into the semi-finals, where they overcame Cheriton Bishop.
In the other last four clash, Cheriton Fitzpaine, who had earlier topped Pool A, overcame Tedburn St Mary, who themselves made up for that defeat by winning the third and fourth play-off encounter.
The Chiefs' Community department oversaw the running of the festival, which also included Newton St Cyres, Yeoford, Bow A and B.
Community manager Tony Walker commented: "All the schools had a large number of new faces in their teams and the festival itself was played in a fantastic spirit, as always.
"The Crediton Festival, which has been running for a number of years now, has always been a large part of the Tag Rugby year and was a great start for all the schools to introduce tag rugby and festivals to those who played."
Once again the club thank South West Communications Group and Crediton Rugby Club for all their support during the event.
