THE Bowen technique is often the last therapy people try, after a series of failed pills, physiotherapy, massage and other body therapies, so there is quite a high expectation with the Bowen technique, which has been successful with 80 per cent of the people who receive it.

The technique involves a procedure of movements using the practitioner's thumbs and fingers, rolling over muscle and skin. During treatment, there are a series of short breaks, where the client is left alone, so that their body can respond to the gentle moves performed.

The break is an important part of Bowen, giving the body time to adjust, and re-balance itself, so it is a very natural and holistic therapy.

Many people relax with Bowen, relieving their tension and pain in their own unique way. Anyone can receive Bowen, young and elderly although, as already mentioned, it may not work for everyone.

The Bowen session lasts for around 45 minutes and it is recommended that the client wear loose, light clothing...there is no nudity involved!

Four to five treatments is usually sufficient for relief, although sometimes top-ups are required, depending on the nature of the treatment.

The aim of Bowen is to balance the entire body system, so it does not treat symptoms, it treats the person as a whole. Common presentations addressed are- back and neck injuries/sciatica, frozen shoulder/tennis elbow, joint pain/muscle spasms, hamstring strain, whiplash, PMT and period pain, carpals tunnel syndrome, migraine and digestive problems.

Bowen therapy can currently be sampled for free!

Pom and Penny are two local Bowen students in their 50's, who attend the European College of Bowen technique and who would love to be given the opportunity to find out if Bowen can work for you...

This offer is for March and is entirely genuine.
