THE June meeting of Crediton Probus Club was our AGM and was attended by 24 members and the president Gerald Hill who was leading his last meeting.

Grace was given by Dr Chris Maycock. This was followed by the usual excellent Downes Crediton Golf Club meal after which the quote was given by Don Nicholson.

Gerald Hill then gave his reflections on his presidential year.

In the absence of Peter Bryan, on his behalf, Mike Davies gave a review of the group’s finances.

Russ Ballard was then elected President and swapped places with his predecessor, Gerald.

He began his remarks by admiring the presidential badge of office and then presented the past-president’s badge to Gerald.

The following officers were elected: Treasurer Mike Davies; secretary John Marshall; speaker’s committee Keith Beetlestone, Victor Palmer and Brian Healey and “Courier” reports Keith Barker.

Russ then went through the usual list of “business matters” and, in the absence of a speaker, ended the meeting by proposing the toast “to the next time”.
