HAYWARD’S Primary School Summer Fayre was a noisy and colourful affair with each class of children representing a different country in the Rugby World Cup.
Children carried flags and wore clothes representing the colours of the countries they represented and paraded into the school field from the playground to much applause and excitement.
This was followed by an introduction of each country team, the opening of the stalls, dance displays by the children and a tag rugby match demonstration, at some times using a giant rugby ball.
A fire engine from Crediton went along and there was a bouncy castle, barbecue, jazzy jars, ice creams, lucky dip, face painting, cakes and many stalls with rugby themes.
There was a bumper raffle with prizes donated by many businesses.
The event was organised by the Friends of Hayward’s School and a grand total is yet to be announced.
