ON Monday, August 1, Roy Beckett will be leaving Lands End to cycle the 1,000 miles to John O'Groats, to raise funds for Hospiscare and Witheridge Football Club.

The club is providing support for Roy, following him in a camper van with his two spare bikes. Roy, who used to live in Crediton and now lives in Cullompton, is no stranger to long-distance bike rides for charity.

He has cycled the 150 mile Lynmouth to Cullompton to raise funds for cancer support plus Witheridge FC and done other rides for Hospiscare.

Roy has a page on the Just Giving site, or sponsorship forms are available at local shops, included the offices of the Crediton Courier.
