BERT Jewell, Eddie Sherwood and David Oliver worked hard on Sunday, April 7 to dig and plant-up the roundabout at the entrance to Crediton as part of Britain in Bloom.

Nick Hasted also helped with the preparation work which took place in February

Bob Brookes was responsible for traffic management and one lane closed around the roundabout on the Sunday while the work was carried out.

Last year Britain in Bloom judges picked up on the state of the roundabout so this year there will be lots of flowers and shrubs, kindly donated by Mole Avon Country Stores, to give a colourful display at the southern entrance to the town.

The new plants include Berberis Star Burst, Berberis Orange Rocket, Brachyglottis Sunshine, Cotoneaster Queen of Carpet, Euonymus Emerald ’n’ Gold and Euonymus Emerald Gaiety.

Next autumn the team will put bulbs around the edge of the roundabout for a beautiful colourful display of flowers in the following summer.
