CHARLOTTE Street in Crediton remains passable with care under police direction after a road accident at about 9am this morning, Friday, January 26.

A grey-coloured 05-registration Nissan Almera collided with a large white and coloured stationary window repair van parked outside a property where workmen have been replacing windows for the last few days.

The van was moved from the scene to a side road but the car is badly damaged and recovery is awaited.

Large vehicles, such as lorries and buses are being directed by police at the scene to drive along part of the pavement to pass the remaining car.

Some traffic congestion is occurring due to the one-lane closure.
