EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic accident on a minor road between Coldridge and North Tawton at 5.17pm on Saturday, March 10.

It was initially believed that two people were trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Fire crews from North Tawton and Chulmleigh attended along with an ambulance and police.

On arrival, the first fire crew confirmed two elderly occupants were still within a vehicle, but were not physically trapped.

Following assessment from paramedics, the two occupants were able to get out of the vehicle, assisted by crews and paramedics. The fire crews made the vehicles safe and duty of care was left with the Police.
