TO commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, the residents of Hillbrow Residential Care Home in Crediton made poppies for a Poppy Cascade as a way of honouring those who have given their lives or who have been affected by war.

Over several weeks, the residents made red poppies to remember those from the armed services, white poppies to remember all people affected by war and purple poppies to remember service animals.

Residents and families dedicated a poppy to the memory of a family member or friend, or just wrote a few words of remembrance.

The Poppy Cascade was in the main hall and was a real talking point in the home.
