THE residents of Hillbrow Residential Home in Crediton celebrated the Royal Wedding in style with various wedding themed activities in the weeks leading up to the wedding of HRH Prince Harry and Megan Markle and finished with a garden party on May 19.
The residents made fascinators for the ladies and buttonholes for the men and also made some wedding-themed bunting which decorated the home.
There was a display containing the wedding photographs of many of the residents and staff, wedding invitations and telegrams. This was a great talking point for many of the residents and their families, and brought back many happy memories of their own special day.
On the day of the wedding, many residents watched the wedding service together and enjoyed a delicious three-course wedding breakfast and toasted the happy couple.
This was followed by a garden party and the residents were joined by family and friends, including some children from Hayward’s Primary School, who are regular visitors at Hillbrow.
A talented jazz duet provided the perfect background music for a beautiful sunny afternoon, and everyone enjoyed a cream tea to round off a special day of celebrations.
