HUNDREDS of people went along to pay their respects to the fallen in Crediton on Remembrance Sunday, November 9.

A civic service was held at the parish church, which featured prayers, hymns and Bible readings.

Afterwards, a parade assembled on Union Road and proceeded to the war memorial, where Rev Matthew Tregenza led a short service.

There was a two-minute silence at 11am, and a bugler played the Last Post and Reveille.

Wreaths were laid at the memorial by community groups, the police, fire service, cadets and others.

The parade then marched along Union Road to Crediton Town Square, where Mayor of Crediton Steve Huxtable expressed his thanks to everyone who attended.
