THE year 2016 has, so far, brought Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton cause for celebration.

The school has been rated the best in Devon for A Level performance, in terms of the progress made by pupils.

It came top for “value added performance”, which measures pupils’ ability at key stages of their education and compares it with their final exam results.

QE surpassed all the county’s private and state schools in that category.

This success at A Level can been seen as the positive results of the holistic approach to education that QE subscribes to.

From the transition process, which ensures students are supported during their journey from primary school to Queen Elizabeth’s dedicated Year 7 and 8 campus, through to their GCSE’s and A Level’s, students at Queen Elizabeth’s are encouraged to take part in and enjoy a wide and varied range of curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities and activities.

From the Duke of Edinburgh expedition to Namibia, to the extremely well-received Into the Woods theatrical productions, Queen Elizabeth’s students are given many diverse and exciting opportunities to extend and build on their classroom learning.

These will prove invaluable, not just in their academic endeavours, but in their lives as they move from being students to being adult members of society.
