PLAYERS from Queen Elizabeth's Community College, Crediton took part in the ALL England Invitational Tournament held at London Irish Rugby Club.

It was the first time QECC had been invited to the rugby sevens tournament and they were the only non-private school to be invited.

The team put on an impressive performance, taking on Wellington College, Bishops of Hereford and Radley.

QECC also competed in the largest schools, sevens rugby tournament held at Rosslyn Park, London in a section with 160 other schools.

The sevens squad played against Ewell Castle School from surrey, Cowbridge from Wales, putting on a good performance against strong competition.

Playing in the Year 11 sevens squad were: Jack Boutler (capt), Rob Avery-Wright, Steve Cockcroft, Ike Daeche, Sam Hill, Nathan Ronchetti, Matt Rundle, Charlie Passmore, Nick Reddick, Leigh Kinch, George Marshall, Abe Beale and Vince Vhinyu.

Year 10 players Gareth Dart and Ben Phillips played in the match against Bishops Stortford College.
