QUEEN Elizabeth’s School (QE) hosted their annual QuadKids athletics competition on Thursday, June 30.

Physical Education teachers Paul Tearle and Ross Gillon invited 12 primary schools from the Crediton Learning Community to attend with teams of six boys and six girls to compete across a range of sporting activities.

In total, 40 QE students from Year’s 10, 11 and 12 worked together to lead seven different events, recording results for the presentation ceremony to award the fastest, strongest, springiest and most accurate performers.

More than 230 students attended from primary schools at Bow, Bramford Speke, Copplestone, Cheriton Bishop, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Haywards, Landscore, Newton St Cyres, Sandford, Tedburn, Thorverton and Yeoford.

At the end of four hours of exciting competition, students competed in a 6 x 50m relay to finish off the day.

The athletic events scores were counted for each team of six, and certificates were awarded to the winners.

The winning team for the girls competition came from Landscore Primary School, with the runners up from Yeoford Primary School and the third placed team from Sandford School. In the boys competition, Landscore again came out victorious, with Hayward’s in second place and Sandford in third.
