THE standard of cakes entered into Yeoford Community Primary School’s Great British Cake Off Macmillan Coffee Morning was very high, with chocolate cakes being a preferred option by many of the bakers.
The children thoroughly enjoyed baking cakes, biscuits, buns, and cupcakes for the Cake Off which raised £144 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The judges, head teacher Pete Halford and Elaine Clark (a school governor and home economist) chose the winners.
Peter, who was delighted with the entries said: "I tried every entry and they were all delicious, a tough job but somebody had to do it!"
Prizes were awarded for the best boy and best girl from each of the three classes:
Class Three - joint winners boys - Rubeun and Isaac, girls - Amy and Katie.
Class Two winners were - boys - Louis, girls - Millie.
Class One winners were Louisa, Sasha, Barney and Florence.
