CREDITON Operatic and Dramatic Society (CODS) has been chosen as a finalist in RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund - and it is now down to a public vote to see if they are chosen to receive £1,000 worth of building materials.
The group has been in existence for more than 50 years and stage concerts, musicals and plays for the enjoyment of the local community.
The musicals and plays take place in both Queen Elizabeth’s School halls and the society works hard to transform the hall and entrance foyers into impressive theatre sets to fit around each show.
Therefore, if the group is chosen as the Community Fund winner they will use the money to purchase materials to create scenery and sets for upcoming performances.
CODS is up against the Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society and Coads Green Amateur Players.
Adrian Borchardt, Branch Manager at RGB Crediton, commented: “Giving the public the opportunity to choose the recipient of our Well Built Community Fund is something new for us and we would like to encourage people in the local area to get involved and support the Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society.”
Votes can be cast by visiting the Crediton RGB branch and placing a voting chip in the relevant box, by visiting RGB’s Facebook page or by emailing: [email protected] and putting the name of the group in the subject line.
Voting will take place between today, Monday, September 12 and midnight on Sunday, September 25.
Votes cast outside of these dates will not be counted and votes can only be made at the Crediton branch during normal opening hours.
Only one email vote per email address will be counted.
The winner of the £1,000 worth of building materials will be the group that receives the largest number of votes.
