MORCHARD Bishop Memorial Hall was filled with the scent of hot home-baked mince pies and other good foods for the Christmas Bazaar which raised £896 for the parish church.

Many stallholders were in seasonal costume, and a small band of pupils from Morchard Bishop C of E Primary School gave a short performance of pieces they had done for their recent LAMDA examination, acting and prose.

A new club at the school, this gives the pupils chance to take exams in the performing arts. LAMDA is the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Father Christmas arrived, the kitchen was still serving the mince pies, ginger breads, or cup cakes with lots of sparkle on top, and the stalls were loaded with Christmas gift ideas.
