BRASS rubbing was one of the attractions at a Gift and Open Day held at Crediton Parish Church.
Music was played on the church organ by the Rector, the Rev Nigel Guthrie, who is a former professional organist. His skills were greatly admired.
Tours of the church, governor's room and the bell tower were available.
The brass rubbing was made possible using Heritage Lottery funding from the 2007 Search for Saxon Crediton project. The church was able to purchase five replica brasses from Exeter Cathedral using money remaining from the Continued from page 1.

There was also a range of stalls and refreshments were served.
Many visitors also watched the new DVD about the history of Holy Cross church.
Crediton Rector, the Rev Nigel Guthrie, has commented on the success of the Gift and Open Day.
Writing in the Crediton Parish Magazine, he states: "I would like to thank those who contributed so very generously to the Gift Day at Holy Cross.
"An amazing total of £4,859 was donated, with several hundreds pounds more to be claimed in Gift Aid on the donations.
"This has really transformed the financial outlook for the year at Holy Cross and I am most grateful for the support, prayers and generosity of all who have contributed.
"The Open Morning and tours generated considerable interest and the event was very well received by all the visitors I met."
