SPENDING a month in Costa Rica during the school summer holidays working to help with endangered species of turtles is 17-years-old Ethan Sibley of Tedburn St Mary.
He will be going with a small group of other pupils from Queen Elizabeth’s School at Crediton and to help raise funds for the trip, Ethan held a Big Breakfast at Tedburn St Mary Village Hall, raising more than £400.
He will be based at the Pacuara Reserve, 800 hectares of tropical rainforest on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. This was set up in 1989 by a UK charity.
Ethan thanks everyone who contributed to the funds raised at the Big Breakfast and the Red Lion pub at Tedburn for donating the baked beans and the tomatoes.
Among the "jabs" Ethan needs to have is hepatitis and typhoid.
He plays rugby for Crediton RFC Colts and has been a member of TADS, Tedburn Amateur Dramatic Society, since he was at primary school.
