THE Spring Ball and Silent Auction organised by Morchard Bishop Pre School and Toddler Group and held in the Memorial Hall, was a great success with about £1,000 being raised for pre-school funds.

A total of 86 people enjoyed the special four course meal which, due to the indisposition of the chef, was prepared by committee members and parents with the help of Sarah Gillbard of The London Inn.

Music for the dancing was provided by "Covered", an extremely good band which was again playing for the event by popular demand.

There were 26 lots in the Silent Auction which raised just over £600 of the total sum and the organisers would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously.

Lots included visits to the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Rosemoor Gardens and the Miniature Pony Centre. There was a trip to Lundy, a tour of Dartington Glass Factory and a Green Fee for four people to play 18 holes of golf.>
