CREDITON resident George Davey has called for action to be taken by Devon County Council to repair potholes on roads in Beech Down and Twisted Oak areas of Tedburn St Mary.
Mr Davey described the potholes in the area as “shocking” and “dangerous”, adding that some were several inches deep.
He added that the road surface had completely worn away in some areas and said that drains were blocked and water was standing in the road.
Devon County Council advises that potholes (large 40mm vertical-edge hole that is also greater than 300mm wide) can be reported on the Report a Problem page on its website at: www.new.devon.gov.uk .
If you are reporting an emergency that requires immediate attention, please call DCC on 0345 155 1004. An emergency on the highway is defined as something that is very likely to present an imminent threat to life or serious injury or serious damage to property.
The Report a Problem page can also be used to report flooding and blocked drains (standing water, blocked drain, flooded property, impassable road) and other issues such as defective street lights, lit signs, bollards, trip hazards, overgrown vegetation, hazardous or fallen trees, broken manhole covers, debris or obstructions such as soil, stones, embankments, fallen branches or trees, bridges, damaged or faulty traffic lights or signals and defective road markings.
