I AM very sorry for the interruption of the external post box at Crediton Post Office.

When I heard the sad news that Barclays Bank was closing I immediately thought it would be a great idea to replace the lost cash machine.

I gave Royal Mail notice of what I was planning to do in December 2015. They assured me a new post box would be fitted directly outside Crediton Post Office in place of the old.

Once everyone was notified planning was applied for by Note Machine Ltd.

I am shocked and saddened at how this issue has turned out.

I did not want to upset anyone, all I wanted to do was help my business and other businesses on Market Street with a closer cash machine other than the High Street.

Myself and Post Office Ltd have invested a huge sum of money into Crediton Post Office.

I am here to help and support the community which I feel my staff and I are doing and I am, again, deeply sorry for the issue that has occurred.

I have telephoned Royal Mail management daily for updates regarding the post box.

The answer they have given me is that planning is now in, far too late in my opinion as I was expecting a simple transition, one closed, the other opened.

A new temporary post box is being fitted in the branch.

Once again I would like to apologise to my customers and the Crediton community it was never my intention to upset anybody!
