AN EIGHT-year-old Crediton girl has been presented with an award for reading 100 books borrowed from Crediton Library.

Poppy Dafters, a pupil at Landscore Primary School, received a Gold Booktrack Badge and certificate from Librarian-in-charge, Beatrice Coveney.

Devon County Council's library services operate Booktrack as a leisure time reading activity for children aged six and over.

Badges are awarded at regular intervals along the "track", culminating in the award of a gold badge when the goal of 100 books has been reached.

Poppy said her favourite author was Shoo Rayner.

Her hobbies include dancing, namely ballet, tap and jazz, with Katharine Mitchell. Poppy also enjoys swimming and when she is older would like to go pony riding.
