POLICE were called at 2.20pm today, Sunday, July 3, to the M5 between junctions 28 and 29 following reports of concern for a woman located on a bridge.

Officers attended the scene.

Subsequently, the woman fell and was airlifted to hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.

At 5.15pm Police said that the southbound carriageway has since reopened but the northbound carriageway remains closed at this time.
