Police helicopter and ground crews search for missing person in Crediton

A SEARCH for a missing person has been taking place in Crediton tonight and into the early hours of this morning.

The Devon and Cornwall Police helicopter searched many areas of the town from 11pm on Monday, June 27 until 11.42pm.

Police on foot have also been searching areas of the town.

Just before 1am on Tuesday, June 28, National Police Air Service South West, which had been conducting the airborne search, including with the use of a large spotlight from the helicopter tweeted about the search.

It said: “We have been assisting @DC_Police with a missing person search in Crediton, Devon.

“We have now left the area whilst ground teams continue the search.”
