DEVON and Cornwall Police has issued an appeal for witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage, to a single-vehicle road traffic collision in which a motorcyclist died to make contact as soon as possible.
The collision occurred on the A377 westbound carriageway at Newton St Cyres at around 12.25pm on Sunday, August 30.
As a result of the collision, a 58-year-old male motorcycle rider received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roads policing officers and forensic collision investigators attended and an investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The road was closed to traffic until almost 8.30pm that evening to enable the investigation work to take place.
Anyone with dash-cam footage, or who was driving along the A377 at the time and may have witnessed the collision, is urged to contact police by calling 101, or emailing: [email protected] , quoting log number 455 of 30/08/2020.
The death of the motorcyclist was the second in four months on the A377 between Crediton and Newton St Cyres.
Motorcyclist Daniel Adametz (22), died in a collision with a car on the A377 near Hookway Cross at around 5.45pm on Thursday, May 7.
Floral tributes and a motorcycle helmet can be viewed by passing motorists at the scene.
A 27-years-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was released under police investigation while enquiries continue.
Officers also appealed for witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage of that collision to come forward.
