The NDVA is a not-for-profit group which was formed around eight years ago with a remit to collect images, anecdotes and experiences of veterans living in the region in order to save those memories.

Photos are digitally copied and veteran interviews recorded and stored in the archives.

So far, the NDVA has collected about 20,000 images which they use to tell the story of Britain’s military heritage over the past 100 years. They supply or loan “museums” to local history groups, schools and heritage societies.

The NDVA would like to hear from any veterans who served in the Armed Forces and are now living in this area to share anecdotes and images.

Any schools or colleges studying World War One or World War Two are also welcome to get in touch. The “museums” are also available to any history group or community wanting to put on an exhibition.
