PLANS to build a three-bedroom home next to a barn approved for conversion west of Cheriton Fitzpaine have been lodged with Mid Devon District Council.
Bryony Hosegood of Morles Farm was granted permission last year to convert the agricultural building off Holly Water Road under “Class Q” of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015, which allows the conversion of agricultural buildings into homes without the need for a full planning application.
Now that the residential use of the site has been established, Ms Hosegood wants to build a new home near the barn instead. This strategy is known as the “Class Q fallback” position.
The new two-storey three-bedroom house would be used by Ms Hosegood to care for her grandfather “in the short term” and as a family home “in the future”.

You can see the application on the council’s website under reference 26/01061/FULL.
