PLANNING permission is being sought to turn five redundant farm buildings into five homes at Spencecombe near Crediton.

George Mortimer of GA Mortimer and Sons wants four of the new houses to have four bedrooms and one three bedrooms. They would be available for sale on the open market.

Each of the homes would have parking for two cars, and there would be extra space for visitors to park at the site.

The walls, which are made of cob and stone and in some places brick and concrete blocks, would stay the same.

The fibre cement slate and corrugated iron roofs would be swapped for natural slate. The windows and doors would be made of hardwood timber.

The plans are a resubmission of an application approved in 2017, as two pre-commencement conditions were not met within the three-year time frame for starting the conversion.

You can see the application on Mid Devon District Council’s website under reference 25/01172/FULL.
