CREDITON Community Bookshop (CCB) is looking to recruit a new Chair and some more Board members.

Crediton Community Bookshop (CCB) has now been running for five years. What started as a plan to save an independent bookshop has grown in both size and scope.

With the help of a transformative grant from the National Lottery’s Power to Change fund, the social enterprise has created a sustainable business and a range of community benefit activities including an award-winning outreach programme to local schools, popular bookshop events and many rewarding volunteer opportunities.

The next phase in the development of the project will include diversification and further expansion of the business alongside growth of CCB’s community work.

To support these ambitions CCB wishes to strengthen its Management Board with some key individuals who can bring suitable experience and commitment to help build on what has been achieved so far.

Acting Chair Prof. Jo Little said: “This is a really exciting time for CCB, with opportunities to really push on with the good work already achieved.

“The current Board members are keen to involve new people with ideas and energy who could make a critical difference to the project.”

The closing date for applications is Saturday, June 30.
