AS the weather continues to get colder, cases of winter illnesses like Covid-19, flu and norovirus are rising in the South West. Everyone can play their part to help to prevent the spread of these illnesses.

With children returning to school, the UKHSA have released advice on how to minimise the spread.

If your child is unwell or has a
fever, they must stay home from school or nursery.

Adults should also stay at home when unwell.

All primary school children can get a free flu vaccination.

Many other groups are also eligible.

Please consider getting yourself and your children vaccinated to help prevent the spread.

Find out whether you can get yours for free at: www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine/.

If you are unsure, check your child’s symptoms using the NHS Handi App. The app will advise you on the best treatment and advice for the most common illnesses.
