CREDITON Town Square was the setting for the Annual Town Meeting held on Saturday, April 23 and organised by Crediton Town Council.

Crediton Mayor, Cllr Liz Brookes-Hocking said: “We decided to hold this year’s Annual Town Meeting on the square to give members of the public a chance to meet and talk to their local councillors and find out about town organisations.”

Members of the public were able to meet local councillors and were given the opportunity to ask questions, give feedback and express their views.

There were a number of organisations at the event including CISCO (Crediton International and Cultural Organisation) which was promoting Free English lessons which take place on Wednesdays at Ashton’s Coffee Lounge at 7pm.

Natalia Letch of CISCO said: “We have lots of people coming along to learn English.

“We are heavily involved with the Ukrainian families who have come to Crediton helping them to fill in forms and giving them advice on schooling, benefits etc.

“We have lots of supporters and we are looking forward to welcoming more Ukrainian families.”
