AFTER more than 18 months of closure, the footpath at Penstone that goes across the Okehampton railway line is open again.

It seems the delay in opening the path was due to getting a power supply to the new warning lights.

There are now new gates either side of the crossing and a lovely level surface to walk on.

The path cuts out the need to walk from Penstone to Colebrooke Mill and up the hill into the village.
